About Me
My name is Addisu Hailegiorgis Desta, born in Dire Dawa, grew up in Debre Zeit (or Debre Zeyit) and then moved to Addis Ababa, Piassa. I went to Yekatit 12 High School, a.k.a. “Etege Menen” and finished in 1993. Then I went to Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Technology to attend Electrical and Computer Engineering. After I got my B.Sc in 1999, I started to work in one of the biggest Software firms in Ethiopia and then moving to bigger and more sophisticated software development for African Insurance Organization. Finally before I came to Canada, I did a one year M.Sc. course work in Computer Engineering at Faculty of Technology.
I call myself Ethiopioneer because all my vision and dream is to see my country “Ethiopia” changed to “Utopia”. I believe that only time could be a constraint to do things but all things are possible. Therefore, if we all work hard together we can win the time constraint, changing many lives, changing our country, changing the way people think, and changing the politics.
Soon, we are planning to release a website “www.ethiopioneers.com” just to share what we know, to encourage past real pioneers in Ethiopia, and also to be involved in projects that will help our country.
Please bear with me on the coming website, “ETHIOPIONEERS.COM”
Friends I always remember…
Yacob Regassa: Yacob is one of the most important person in biasing me having this direction of my life. He was really convincing and inspiring person for those who are interested in hearing about high tech stuffs. It was not only the high tech things he was keen of, but also the spiritual matters as well. I never forget those bible study times at home.
Amanuel Gebremeskel: Amanuel is a person whom I used to talk about computers all day while I was in 4th year, 1998. He allowed me his Pentium PC (could be the first one in Addis Ababa) to browse Internet for the first time. Can you imagine, in our computer lab we only had Intel 80-286 computers while he had three generation ahead.
Yoseph Abate: I blame Yoseph for my psychological growth and doing things for reason. Thanks Yoseph.

Hello, Addisu
I am George, a friend of Haile, I’m from Shanghai. Currently, I study IT at BOND Uni.
I’ll be helping my friend to build a Chinese language learning website during semester holiday. I’m planning to use VS2005 ( C#, ASP2.0 ) to do the coding work and to use Dreamweaver to design the layout. Would this be a practical way?
